I am finally gonna set things in motion now that I have got my FB page set-up. Next up, a blog that I always wanted. All these to share information that I know to wider audience, not just to my clients only. It's kinda ironic that Math and science have always been my interest in school. It's never writing (language).
Clients who know me understand why I am doing what I'm doing.
1) I believe in financial planning. Coming from a humble background of blue collar worker parents who put 4 of us through decent education, my parents didn't have much to their name, let alone plan for us when we were young. It started from ground zero for me which make me more prudent (and make mistakes) about finances since I was younger.
2) Being mathematical, I like to see things to be proportionate. I like the fact that how much I bring in is proportionate to how much effort I put in. My internship at Exxon makes me understand that I need to be in control, not a boss, especially one who likes to micromanage.
3) Stay in touch with friends. Once everybody starts working, it's difficult to catch up with everybody when everyone has got different work schedules, priorities. I love my job as I get to know how everyone is doing and feels good when friends are doing well. Or give them a little nudge when I know they have been spending too much and nag them a little, even if they don't pick up any plan from me haha.
I guess the most fulfilling part of my career which I wasn't aware when I first signed up for it, is the relationship building. From strangers, to client and to friends. The trust some friends gave me is more than what I can ask for. Sometimes, I felt that I am relied on too much and I will jokingly tell some of you that I'm not sure whether it's a good or bad thing that you rely on me so much. Nevertheless, it is these that renews my faith in the business despite the rejections I faced over the years (yes, I still faced rejections so please don't think I have made it, please continue with the referrals!). I would like to thank everyone who entered my life in this 8years of my career and I hope I can continue to do better in terms of advice.
Now, I still have no idea exactly what I will be sharing on this blog so it will more or less be on a free flow basis but it will definitely be somewhat be related to your finances! I hope the topics will be interesting and if anyone has got any specific topic of interest, feel free to let me know and I may include just that, if I think I know enough.
Till the next time.
